Bracket Selection

How to Choose Your Team's Playoff Spot in IMLeagues 

Before You Begin 

Before selecting your playoff position, make sure: 

    • Your team qualified for the playoffs. 

    • Your playoff selection window has opened. 

    • You are logged into IMLeagues and you are on the roster and assigned as the team captain or co-captain 

Important: Playoff positions are selected on a first-come, first-served basis during your assigned selection window. Once you have selected your spot, you cannot change your selection. 

Step 1: Log Into IMLeagues 

  1. Open your preferred web browser. You will not be able to select a on the App, web browser is recommended and a computer is strongly encouraged. 

  1. Navigate to your institution's IMLeagues website. Imleagues.com/utexas 

  1. Sign in using your university credentials. 

Step 2: Open Your Team 

  1. Select Home from the navigation menu. 

  1. Click on the team that qualified for playoffs.

Step 3: Access the Playoff Bracket 

From your team page: 

  1. Locate the Playoffs Brackets section. 

  1. Select View Bracket (or Bracket, depending on the sport)

Step 4: Wait for Your Selection Window 

If your assigned selection time has not started yet: 

    • The bracket may appear locked. 

    • Available positions cannot be selected.  

Once your selection window opens: 

  • Open playoff spots become available. Refresh the page if “view bracket” is not yet displayed 

  • You may choose any available position designated for your seed. 

Tip: Refresh your browser a few minutes before your scheduled selection time. If it is your time and you cannot see the highlighted spots, refresh your page. 

Step 5: Select Your Playoff Position 

  1. Review the available positions on the bracket. 

  1. Click the game or bracket location you would like your team to occupy. 

  1. Make sure the correct position is highlighted before continuing. 

Step 6: Confirm Your Selection 

After selecting your position: 

  1. Click Confirm. 

  1. Wait for the confirmation message. 

Your team will immediately be placed into the selected playoff game. 

Step 7: Verify Your Game Information 

Once confirmed, review: 

    • Opponent (if assigned) 

    • Date 

    • Time 

    • Facility 

    • Playing Field/Court 

Be sure all team members know when and where to arrive. 

Frequently Asked Questions 

How do you decide who gets a BYE game? 

Any team is eligible to select a BYE game if one is available to select. It is a first come first serve selection. 

I don't see any available spots. 

This may happen because: 

    • Your selection window has not opened yet. 

    • You are not logged in as a captain or co-captain. 

    • Your team did not qualify for playoffs. 

Can another teammate choose our spot? 

Only users with captain permissions can complete playoff selection. The captain of the team may assign anyone on the roster as captain or co-captain. 

Can I change my playoff position? 

No. Once your selection has been confirmed, it is considered final unless changed by Intramural Sports staff. 

I accidentally selected the wrong position. 

Contact the Intramural Sports Office immediately. Changes cannot be guaranteed after confirmation. 

Tips for Success 

    • Log in 5–10 minutes before your selection time. 

    • You use the IMLeagues app but its strongly encouraged to use a computer or laptop for the best experience. 

    • Refresh the page when your selection window begins. 

    • Have a second and third choice bracket position in mind and be sure to see the full path to the finals.  

    • Confirm your selection before leaving the page.
