Body Architecture Selection

Frame Architecture

Hybrid (Composite and Tubular) Frame

  • We will be continuing with this architecture and integrate composites based on the testing viability of the composites

  • Dependencies

    • Mounting solutions for other systems (depends on where composites are integrated, i.e. where the battery is mounted, where the suspension is mounted, etc. etc.)

    • Mounting to the rest of the tubular frame

    • Also depends on if Bill and Brian allows hybrid frame

3-Wheeled Frame/Car

  • Body is on board with the 3 wheeled car design, however this is dependent on the rest of the mechanical subsystems

  • Dependencies

    • Trailing vs Swing arm suspension (overall all dynamics setup)

    • Location of CG

    • Battery/driver arrangement

Multi-Level Frame

  • We will be pursuing this in its entirety in conjunction with the dynamics system, in order to optimize our suspension geometry and create a larger range of mounting points for ergo systems.

  • Dependencies

    • Suspension geometry (wishbone length, hardpoint heights, upright length)
