• The new iteration removes the controls middleman and sends the ignition switch signals directly to their respective locations for LV, Charge, and Motor Enable.
• LV Enable: IGN → Power Board
• Charge Enable: IGN → ARR_CONT & BPS → ARR_CONT
• Motor Enable: IGN → Controls

Ignition Switch Redesign Motivation

The redesign of the ignition switch will significantly reduce the complexity of our startup sequence. Rather than routing signals back and forth from the Controls Board, the new sequence will send signals directly from the Ignition Switch board to the Power Board and Contactor Driver board. One thing to note for future design is that the Ignition Switch will be powered directly from the supplemental battery at all times so implementing the necessary isolation will be important.
