Hardware Components
Vehicle Control Unit (VCU)
Controls motor & motor precharge contactors using inputs from driver controls
Monitors precharge board outputs to ensure safe HV state
Sends torque command to motor controller based on pedal state
Charger Interface Board
Interfaces our HV system with the Elcon HK-MF-108-32 charger
Handles CAN communication between the charger and BPS
Boosts charger 12V output to 24V to power the BPS
Precharge Board
Contains precharge resistors to limit inrush current to Motor Controller & MPPTs
Uses isolated amplifiers to measure voltage on either side of resistors
Passes through 2x contactor drive/sense from VCU
Motor Controller Interface Board
Converts 24V to 12V power for the motor controller & provides power protection
Uses motor controller temperature CAN messages to control cooling fans
