Driveday and Powering Daybreak Procedures

Overview:

Rules:

  1. Daybreak may only be powered on and/or driven with the permission and oversight by @Parthiv Shah or @Lakshay Gupta

    1. A driveday or powered run may not happen without their consent and prior knowledge. They will be the primary POC for any logistics.

  2. Powered runs and minor drive sessions must include more than 2 people including the driver.

    1. At minimum:

      1. driver

      2. one person to aid the driver, assist with tools and devices, safety

  3. During drivedays and longer dedicated driving sessions there must be one member dedicated to safety equipment and delivering the fire extinguisher. There must be someone there that knows how to deploy the fire extinguisher and check the levels of it.

    1. At least 3 members must be present: driver, assistance and overseeing, safety member

  4. Helmet must be worn by the driver.

  5. There must be competition safety materials accessible during drive sessions that take place after the vehicle has been moved outside of the bay doors.

    1. This includes at least one fire extinguisher, sand box, shovel, HV blanket.

    2. The fire extinguisher must be on-hand by the secondary person accompanying the driver/vehicle.

  6. Members must maintain a level of mindfulness when navigating around the powered vehicle. Stay out of the way of the car when driving.

  7. If something is amiss, a fault occurs, there are strange smells, or someone broke something, regardless of if it is electrical or mechanical, stop immediately and alert the leads nearby to ensure that the correct steps are taken to evaluate risk.

    1. Do not continue operation or not alert your teammates if there are any concerns. It is better safe than sorry!

  8. During drivedays and longer dedicated driving sessions, there must be reasonable vacancy of the area and boundaries marked by cones. Members must make a reasonable effort to set up an area to avoid other cars, people, and pedestrians that frequent pickle or any other location in the future.

  9. Be generally respectful and safe!
