PROFILE ALREADY SET UP - WINDOWS 7/10

LOGGING IN POST MIGTATION

If you run into ANY issues with Outlook, Post-Migration: Please (take a deep breath) and re-start your computer, and then open the Outlook application again.

Note: You may be prompted multiple times to re-enter your credentials (even if select Remember my credentials).

 Open Outlook
  1. If Outlook is open, please exit out of it completely and then re-open the application.

  2. When prompted for Profile to be used, please select the EID from the dropdown.

  3. A Windows Security dialogue box will open up. Enter your email firstname.lastname@mccombs.utexas.edu and your EID Password.
  4. Select Remember my credentials. Click OK



  5. You may be prompted multiple times to re-enter your credentials.
 Set EID to Default Profile
  1. If you would like, you can now set EID to the default profile (this is not required and can be done at any time).
  2. Exit out of Outlook completely.
  3. Click Windows Start button and type in "Control Panel" in the Search Bar (at the 'magnifying glass icon'). 
  4. Click on Control Panel in the Start Menu search results to open it.



  5. In the top right corner of the Control Panel window, you will see a search bar ('magnifying glass icon'). Type in "Mail".



  6. When your search results display in the window, click on on Mail (32-bit).



  7. A small 'Mail Setup' window will open. Click on Show Profiles and another 'Mail' window will open.



  8. You should see (most of you) two profiles in the list: Outlook and EID

    Do NOT Delete Your Old Profile 


  9. Select EID from the dropdown. Select Always use this profile. Click on Apply and THEN click OK.
  10. You will no longer be prompted to select a profile when starting Outlook. EID is now the default.
 Re-configure Locally Stored Items

NOTE: These items are stored locally on your computer. They will be automatically linked to your new Profile, but you will have to set the default for them (ex: If you go to configure your signature - The current one will be there, but the setting of when to use it will require an action on your part)

NOTE: The following items are stored locally on your computer but require you to import them into your profile. (*Inbox Rules only if they were exported and saved as a file)

.pst files are by default stored in the following location(s) - depending on what version of Outlook you are using:

  • drive:\Users\user\Documents\Outlook Files\archive.pst
  • drive:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\archive.pst
