Problem:
Obstacles are approaching Mr. Penguin
Problem Statement:
Avoid approaching obstacles by implementing horizontal movement via a slider crank mechanism and vertical movement via a cam-and-follower attachment. While the problem could likely be easily solved with a simple gantry system, the replicating “Jump” movement that the cam implements seemed better suited for our retro-arcade aesthetic.
Objective:
Avoid the objects via a mechanism that replicates a retro arcade feel.
Use our knowledge of simple four-bar mechanisms and motor skills to build a complex coordinated profile that has motion along the x and y axes.
