How to Print to UT Print Via E-mail

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open a new email and attach the file that you want to print. Both the body of the e-mail and the attachments will be available for printing.  Please note that the size of each attachment is limited to 50 MB, each message is limited to 10 attachments, and users are limited to 100 emails per day or fewer.
  2. Send your email to mobileprint@austin.utexas.edu
  3. Once the job is ready to print, you will receive an email confirmation.  If your e-mail address is not registered, you will first need to register it before your job will be released.  See the section below.
  4. Go to any library print release station.
  5. Swipe your EID through the attached card reader, or logon with your EID and password.
  6. Select your job from the print queue that appears and click on the Print button.

First-time users: To release documents sent via email, your email address must first be associated with your EID in MyPrintCenter.  You may register as many e-mail addresses as you want:

To register your email address:

  1. If there is no record of your email address when you first send documents for printing to Mobile Print via email, you will receive a reply email to complete your email registration.
  2. Click the Click to register your email address link. You will be redirected to MyPrintCenter.
  3. Log in to MyPrintCenter with your EID and password. You will see a dialog box showing that your email address has been successfully registered to your account.
  4. Click OK.

Having Trouble Printing?

Here are a couple of workarounds if the method above isn't working:

  1. Submit your document via one of the methods described and release your prints at a non-SOA printer (the FAC is the closest option).
  2. Make sure you have a BevoPay account (you do not have to add money to it and can still pay for printing using library funds, just accept the agreement here), and print your documents to UT Print using the drivers method above. Once installed, these drivers will act like a printer connected to your computer. After printing, it will request your EID, password, and for you to confirm the charge. You can then release the print from any UT Print station, including those at the SOA.

Note: Both MyPrintCenter web submission and driver submission require access to the UT network – either by being on campus or via a VPN connection.

Faculty & Staff should print via the LAITS print server. SOA Faculty & Staff printers should be automatically added to your computer. Please call LAITS at 512-471-5000 if they aren't in your Printers list.
