OCLC RWO URIsBenn
  • Catalogers have reported that OCLC is enriching MARC records with RWO URIs. 
  • Folks that have access to the sandbox, there is a set named BC All titles, RWO URI for viewing records containing OCLC linked data enhancements
  • Paloma - opportunity to reach out to Anne Washington (ex University of Houston Metadata librarian) to learn more about OCLC entities and the entities editor Meridian
  • Meeting with the OCLC reps a while back, they commented about additional linked data features coming to Connexion

    • Rachel considers that she did not say anything new, but as an outsider she was able to build on the common threads that she was hearing
    • Some of the current areas that UT has been working for experimentation, should also be priority – special collections
    • Communicating scope is important – what is the message?
    • Pulling people in is time consuming, but engagement is very relevant to gain a critical mass

    • Main interest in where the information comes from, how is that data flowing between systems and how is that provenance documented 
  • Melanie – How do you use AI in your project?
    • Created transcripts from the zoom recordings of the interviews and used ChatGPT to create summaries
  • Katie has worked with capstone students to clean up a large dataset of architectural buildings using LRM
  • Connections between AI and linked data
  • Melanie expects to use the report for prioritizing the work of this group

TCDL Wikidata Workshop prepKatie Yogita Paloma
  • Workshop schedule - Day 1 (5/21) @10-11:30
    • Melanie, Katie, Yogita, Paloma met yesterday to start discussing the workshop implementation
    • Condensing the 2 sessions into one, and adapting to in person
    • Need to keep an eye in the room we are being assigned to anticipate what number of participants we can expect
    • We expect that the range of skills will be different in TCDL
  • Katie is also hosting a session on collections as data
  • Devon is hosting also two sessions 
Planning for 2024all
  • Goals to discuss during the June meeting (since May will mostly focused on TCDL)
    • Intention with Rachel's report was to have that outside perspective and use it for prioritization
    • Focus on Primo Author Card exploration
    • Engaging with more faculty students
