How did the workshop go?

• 20+ attendees

• Structured to have multiple points of hands-on activity throughout, with increasing complexity

• Abandoned use of Dashboard due to lags in updates displayed

• All positive in-person feedback at conference

• 0 responses to post-workshop survey (which was linked from Wikidata Workshop Event page, and mentioned in presentation/slide deck)

Takeaways?

• Editing Wikidata on mobile devices is problematic

  • phone login attempts raise security flags/denied access messages

  • tablet login results in mobile view that is missing certain editing options

• Teaching other people something new right after learning it yourself is optimal time - teacher is acutely aware of learning challenges, empathetic to new learners, less blind spots.

  • Where is BF edited or generated in Alma being stored and how? Melanie and Benn need to investigate and report back.

• Revisit Primo Author Info Cards feature in Sandbox (see example and notes on brief discussion in April meeting) - ideas for further investigations/experimentation with this feature? 

• Exploring specific features in Alma/Primo is a welcome grounding approach for members of this group, and a way to understand outside developments (e.g. Sinopia)

• Focus on ways to promote special collections and accessibility of linked data for users/research/scholarship
