News section on homepage

UPDATE - for showing Media Mentions in the News section

The News section on the homepage is a module set to sort the featured articles by created date. The publish date is what shows up in the news feed (only on internal news, not media mentions). Editing the created date will not affect the date on the news feed.

  • Mark the news item or media mention as a featured article
  • Go to content --> featured articles
  • Use the filter on the top right to sort by created date descending
  • Take note of the created dates that appear for each article
  • Open the article that you want to change the order of. Go to the publishing tab and edit the created by date

OLDER INSTRUCTIONS - keeping as reference if need to change back

To show an article in this section, the article must be marked as “Featured” (the yellow star to the left of the article title in the list view). To order the articles, use the “Search Tools” to select the “News” category (make sure it is the News category that is under News). Then using the sort filter (on the right), choose “Ordering ascending.” You can now drag and drop the articles using the three vertical dots to the left of the article title.

The module (titled "News" and in position-3) should be set to "Ordering" and "Ascending."

The module can be changed if there are articles in the newsfeed that are from other categories (Media Mentions, etc), which may make it harder to organize by "Ordering." If including a Media Mention, be sure to include a "Read More" after the blurb so that the "Keep Reading" text appears on the homepage. It will not appear on the Media Mentions landing page.

NOTE: There should only be four articles starred/Featured at any time.
