Pre-Orientation Checklist
There are a few things that new students should do before their first orientation day in the department:
Get a UT photo ID card and upgrade your EID at the ID Center
Upgrading your UT EID - Note: To upgrade your EID, you must bring a government-issued photo ID with you to the ID Center. You will need the upgraded EID to establish your direct deposit, take required online training, and several other important things.
Create an @utexas.edu email address by going to http://utmail.utexas.edu/
Make sure the Graduate Program Administrator has your current email address, and all contact information is up-to-date on your student record and your employment record. To change your email address for the graduate program list serv, email the Graduate Program Administrator at chemegrad@utexas.edu. For all other list servs, update your contact information in the UT Directory or email the owner of the individual list serv.
Clear all bars from your registration
For nonpayroll payments, including fellowship payments, refunds, and reimbursements, Establish Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) information using My Bank Information-Non Payroll. Click I Authorize to record your changes
Establish or update Direct Deposit information for payroll payments, including GRA and TA stipends. You will only be able to access this website after you have an active employee assignment.
International students should make an Immigration Briefing and Check-In (IBC) appointment with the International Office
