ISORA FAQ

Why am I being asked questions about ISORA and what is it?

It is an annual risk assessment required by Texas Administrative Code to identify who the owner of every networked device is and what type of data is on the system: https://security.utexas.edu/risk/isora/about-ara. It also assists the inventory contacts in marking computers with tags as "found" for the annual inventory certification.

CNS IT manages my computer, so why am I being asked this info?

We have spent hundreds of staff hours doing our best to answer as many questions as possible about all the devices on the network and need your assistance in filling in the missing pieces.

I do not wish to provide my information in person, is there a way around this?

We at least need to confirm you are the owner of the device, we will input that into the system and you will receive a survey request from the information security office on October 4, 2021, requesting that you fill out the missing information.
