SW Scholars: First Steps Before Official Start

Congratulations on becoming a Stengl-Wyer Scholar! There are some documents we’ll need to have ready to begin the appointment process. Some you may have already from the application process.

Documents:

  • Photocopy of government issued ID

  • PhD verification

  • CV

Your HR representative will guide you through completing the onboarding task. This will be done in UT’s Human Resources program, called “Workday.” It be helpful to start the process by getting your UT EID.  When your assignment reaches final approval. You will then need to provide ORIGINAL and UNEXPIRED acceptable forms of identification for I-9 documents by the 3rd day of employment.

Getting a UT EID and ID card

A UT EID is essential for many functions and you will get one very early on in the appointment process. Your HR contact will guide you through the process but you may also get a start here.

An ID card identifies you as part of the UT community, and will give you building access, check out privileges at libraries, free Capital Metro transportation, and other functions.

Once you have your EID, you can get an ID card. Get started here: https://idmanager.its.utexas.edu/eid_self_help/?cancel&qwicap-page-id=A2529BF12B8643D0

Building Access and Keys

Many buildings remain open during business hours. Some have limited access during off hours and others require card access at all times. Your ID card will get you into buildings that require card access, but you will need to be granted access permission. Contact the individuals below for access. If you require keys to access certain rooms, you may also reach out to these individuals.
