Units can manage additional applications by uploading those applications to the cloud distribution point and following the established naming conventions - Packages and Policies - Naming and Globally Available. Guides for installing and managing applications at the site level are available here: https://docs.jamf.com/10.37.0/jamf-pro/documentation/App_Installers.html
Updating applications
Applications listed above will be "auto updated" via the posted method
For applications installed via Self Service, Jamf Pro's built in "app installers" will continue to update the applications.
Applications not listed above can still be updated via Jamf App installers if it is supported by Jamf. Please see https://learn.jamf.com/bundle/jamf-app-catalog/page/App_Installers_Software_Titles.html for available titles.
If you find an application has a new version, and Jamf App installers DOES NOT have it avalible within one day of release please reach out to the EPM team to engage with our Jamf contacts.
End User prompts for updates
Jamf App installers will update any application that is not currently in use. If the application is in use when an update becomes available they will be prompted via a macOS notification coming from the Jamf Self Service application. (Example shown below)
A user will be given 4 days to close the application for the update to take place. At the end of 4 days of prompts there is an additional 90 minute grace period before the application will self restart to allow the update.
EPM is available to IT Support Organizations (ITSOs) with any endpoint management questions. If you have a question about a specific endpoint client, please reach out to your local endpoint client support organization.
