MODS Element name: <accessCondition>
Short definition: Indication of rights relating to access and use of a resource.
Input guidelines: Select an appropriate statement about the copyright status (options include standard public domain mark and statements from http://rightsstatements.org and https://creativecommons.org/licenses/). Also select a value indicating the access restrictions to be enforced by the UT Libraries Collections portal. The following statements are available in the DAMS:

Currently only the values "Public access" and "Metadata only" are correctly interpreted by the publishing process for publishing assets to the Collections portal. For assets where only metadata is published to the Collections Portal, it is advised to add a general note informing users why the asset is not accessible online. Guidelines for use
Select an appropriate statement about the copyright status (options include standard public domain mark and statements from http://rightsstatements.org and https://creativecommons.org/licenses/). Also select a value indicating the access restrictions to be enforced by the UT Libraries Collections portal. In order to include both types of information (copyright statement and access restriction), the <accessCondition> is repeated, with different type attributes respectively.

Solr
In general, all MODS metadata is imported into the DAMS Solr server upon ingest. The ingest process generates Solr fields typically named according to the following schema:
mods_value*_suffix
where
value* can be one or multiple element, subelement or attribute names that allow to distinguish Solr fields
suffix is s, t, ss, ms or mt, which refers to the type of data stored in a Solr field and how it is indexed. The Solr index usually contains multiple copies of each field with the same content, distinguished by their suffix.
The following table shows mappings between MODS elements and Solr fields for those fields that are currently used for display in the Collections portal, or where additional processing happens in Islandora or during the publishing process. Suffixes are ignored, unless relevant for the mapping.
