Printer/Copier/Scanner Locations

FOR CLASS USE

(ex. TAs copying sets of tests/quizzes/handouts)

Please use the copiers in EER 1.822 (Just outside the checkout room, across from the elevators). 

Accessing Class Use Copiers

  • The door is secured via access code for actively appointed TAs or faculty only.

  • TAs or other non-faculty non-admin-staff must request access in order to receive a separate code (which will change each semester) which can be obtained by contacting help@ece.utexas.edu

  • Do not share the code with others.

IT/Troubleshooting Class Use Copiers

  • Comprehensive copier instructions (including printer installation) can be found here.

  • This copier is stocked by the ECE Department, not WNCG.

  • Please note that WNCG Staff do not manage these machines at all. If you have any issues with room access, connecting or other questions regarding your printer connection (or other IT issues)

FOR RESEARCH USE

Accessing Research-Use Copiers

Printers, copiers, and scanners are available in the alcoves in the middle of the EER GRA seating areas on floors 6 and 7.

AS OF MARCH 2023, the 6th floor copier does not require a login code.

Setting Your Computer Up for Printing

6th floor - WNCG has a Canon ImageFORCE 6155 - new March 2026 - (printer/copier/scanner) located in the printing alcove. This device should only be used by WNCG Faculty, Staff, and grad students.

Driver info from ECE-IT is as follows. If you need to troubleshoot, contact ECE-IT.
- For Mac computers they should be able to add the printer by its DNS name: eer6-848-canonif6155.ece.utexas.edu. The protocol to use is IPP and they should be sure to toggle and select the duplex printing option when prompted.
- For Windows systems, they can add the printer by going to start typing in \\engr-print1.austin.utexas.edu\ and double click on the object ECEN-EER-6-848-CanonIF6155 and it should do all the magic for them. Admin rights may be needed and there may be issues with adding the device on personally owned Windows devices. I believe the print drivers being used by the print server on the Windows side of things is the Canon Generic Plus PCL6 3.40 drivers, but installing via the method above will pull the print driver directly from the print server.”

FYI:

  • There are no drivers for Linux operating systems for the device.

  • Users of Windows devices may have to request updated admin credentials from ECE-IT.

Paper Size

The standard paper size used in the copiers is US Letter 8.5” x 11”.

US Legal size copy paper (8.5” x 14”) is also available; please ask WNCG Staff if you need some.

6th floor - only Black & White; no color available.
