Documentation Working Group 2016-2017

The goals of the Documentation Working Group include:

Address the immediate need of Islandora repositories on campus for a central point of exchange for documentation
Create standards and templates for technical documentation (metadata styleguides, workflows, etc.) that can be adopted by the Digital Asset Management Task Force and made available to the broader campus community
Determine the resources required to support a central documentation repository (platform, publishing process/vetting, hosting, outreach so that people know that it is available)

The success of this working group depends on:

A coalition of the willing
Members that feel there is a need for campus-wide knowledge management around digital asset management/digital preservation/metadata workflows
Members whose experience and expertise are needed to support the ongoing development of core digital infrastructure across campus

More details:

Duration: We will want to set some benchmarks in our first meeting, but it would be good to aim for some concrete output by the start of Fall 2016.
Time commitment: Frequency and location are all negotiable - it will depend on how many folks are interested.
