Microsoft Copilot App Installation

Microsoft Copilot chat lets you chat with Copilot, offering basic conversational AI features without requiring a license

Copilot for M365 is a paid license for Faculty and Staff that provides integrated access to multiple Microsoft features, including Copilot Studio and advanced productivity tools.

Installing Microsoft Copilot app

Windows:

Copilot is pre-installed with Windows 11. Simply search for “Copilot” to get started.

MacOS: Copilot can be installed via the UT Self Service.

1. Open Self Service: Press Cmd + Space to open Spotlight, type Self Service, and press Enter to open the app. Alternatively, you can find it in your Applications folder as "UT Self Service"

2. Find Copilot: Use the search bar in the top left or browse to the Tool category to locate Copilot.

3. Install: Click the Install button underneath the Copilotentry. The app will download and install without requiring administrator rights.

4. Launch: Once the installation finishes, you will see a "Done" notification or the button will change to "Reinstall". Navigate to your Applications folder, open Copilot, and click on Log In. Sign in with your UT IID (youreid@eid.utexas.edu)
