Appendix C: Your First Day

Congratulations on joining the Webber Energy Group! Here is a checklist to make your first day as a graduate student member a little easier:

• First thing’s first: read through the WEG handbook in full if you have not already done so.

• Go into the offices and claim a desk. As a fellow WEG member which are available, and which are best

• Go find Sarah De Berry-Caperton and introduce yourself. Inquire about the following:

• Being added to the WEG google calendar

• Obtaining an Adobe Acrobat Pro subscription

• Notebook

• Pen

• Office Key Request form

• Go introduce yourself to Jeff and ask about setting up a time to get your photo taken for the website

• Download LaTex

• Consider learning R and Python for programming, data analysis, and creating figures

• Codeschool: R introductory course

• Codeacademy: Python course
