MRI Site Cross-training

Cross-training for L0, L1, or L2 Users of Prisma or Vida

Certifications are site-specific for L0, L1, and L2 training. In order to have access to another site, cross-training will be required. MRI cross-training may only be requested if you have already completed certification at either the Prisma or the Vida.

Cross-training consists of an in-person session with BIC Staff at the requested site (Prisma or Vida) of about 45 minutes. This session will cover important safety considerations and protocols that are unique to each site.

Requesting Cross-training

To request a cross-training session, email bic-training@utlists.utexas.edu with the subject “Cross-training Request” and include:

• The site/scanner you are requesting to be cross-trained at (NHB Prisma or HDB Vida)

• Your UT eid

• Which lab you are with

• What level user you are currently (L0, L1, L2)

BIC staff will respond to your email to schedule a session. If multiple lab members require cross-training, it is best to schedule as a group for efficiency.

Once you have completed cross-training, you will receive a certification email for the additional site/scanner. BIC staff will add you as appropriate to FBS and provision badge access. If you find your access has not been provisioned after receiving the certification email, you can reach out via the BIC Access Request Form for badge access and the FBS access request form for scheduling.
