General procedure

  1. Login to the B1500 using the following login credentials:

Lab User MerCadTel
  1. Open EasyEXPERT software

  2. Set up the test you want to use

    1. If you are using a commonly used test, look under "My Favorites" on the right side

    2. If you are using some other standard test provided in the test library, search for the test set up from the test library

  3. Attach the B1500 to the electric test set-up you plan on using, e.g. Probe Station

  4. Run test

  5. Save test data

    1. Expand the "Results" window

    2. Click on the test you want to save (probably the most recent)

    3. Right click --> "Export" --> Pick your data format, text file is recommended

Commonly used tests

4-pt Colinear probe

Used to calculate sheet resistance of thin films as an alternative to the van der Pauw configuration.

  • Advantages: easier to set up - doesn't require changing current / voltage connections either manually or through the software

  • Disadvantages: must be used with appropriate geometry factors for accurate measurements
