The guidance on this page pertains only to 9-month faculty. For 12-month faculty, employment during summer months is the same as for the rest of the academic year, for instance, via costing changes. Note that Maymester teaching is not considered summer employment. See COE: Maymester (Intersession)
Follow the guidance in the COE Faculty Summer Assignments Policy for the current year. COE Faculty Affairs will share this with Academic HR Partners, Cost Center Managers, and research administrators each spring. The Provost’s Office will refer to this policy in their review of Workday business processes submitted by our College.
