(DC) [Windows] Signing and Encryption using Thunderbird
Make sure you have requested and downloaded your digital certificate from Stache.
In Thunderbird, right click on your account name and go to Settings:
In Settings - select Security:
Click View Certificates and under "Your Certificates" click on Import:
Browse to the location of your p12 file and select Open.
Enter the password provided to you in Stache:
Back at the Security settings menu, click Select under "Digital Signing", your cert will be selected automatically.
Select Yes - this will set the cert under the Encryption settings.
Check the "Digitally Sign Messages" checkbox. Your settings should look like this:
To check if messages are being signed or to toggle signing and encryption settings per message, select the Security drop-down in the compose message window.
Searching Address Book (GAL) for Certificates - Thunderbird
Open Thunderbird.
From the Tools menu, select Address Book.
From the File menu, select New and choose LDAP Directory.
In the General tab, enter the following information:
Name: "UT Directory"
Hostname: "ldap.utexas.edu"
Base DN: "dc=directory,dc=utexas,dc=edu"
Port: "389"
Click OK, then from the File menu, select Close.
