Welcome back, everyone! As you begin teaching and supporting students this semester, please know that LAITS is here to help. This month's newsletter has some reminders and tips to get you rolling this year. Due to external market factors affecting computer prices, we strongly recommend ordering any planned computer purchases as soon as possible to secure current pricing. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact our Lifecycle Manager, Ryan Vogel, at ryan.vogel@austin.utexas.edu. Several printing upgrades are also on the horizon for this year. Make Me Admin / Administrative PrivilegesGetting an admin login prompt on your computer? Good news! You already have administrator access. Mac users: Open the Privileges for Mac app to temporarily grant yourself administrator rights. Windows users: Open the Make Me Admin for Windows app to temporarily elevate your privileges. |

Shared Emails
If you already have permission to access a shared email account, you do not need to sign in separately.
Simply add the shared mailbox to Outlook, and it will appear alongside your other mailboxes. Outlook will automatically connect to the shared mailbox using your existing account.

Printers
Need to add printers to you UT computer? If you have a Mac you can use the Self Service+ app in order to find your departmental printers and install them. If you have a Windows machine, they should already be installed. If not, you can reach out to us to get them up and running. For personal computers, you’ll need permission and instructions from your department.
