Orbitrap Elite and Fusion notes
- spray shield recommended for use when not doing nanospray including calibration, to keep instrument clean
- Elite low flow HESI needle OPTON 53010 for use up to 400 ul/min. This is stable for cal mix at 3 ul/min while high flow needle needs 5-7 ul/min for stability and goes over 1 ml/min
- nanospray source can be used to calibrate weekly FT but is not recommended for monthly EMT and other calibrations
- Fusion negative calibration use lower spray voltage 2-2.5 kV
- check spray stability for 1000 scans not 100 scans, watch that deviation is not large, under 10% but not jumping around
- Fusion calibration check ion optics, then go to Diagnostics do Orbitrap transmission, isotope ration, isotope interactions, then go back again to Calibration tab and check ion optics
