Rainwater & Garden
The rainwater collection system consists of a 330 gallon galvanized aluminum tank that is installed below a demonstration "mini-roof". The "mini-roof" has dimensions of 13'x8' (104 ft2).
Water is collected in the tank via a system of pipes. Water is first passed through a leaf-eater filter, then through a 3" first-flush diverter that contains a slow-dripping mechanism to filter out the first round of dirty water and residue that have accumulated on top of the "mini-roof."
Then, the water is passed to the tank via 2" pipe and concludes at a 1.5" pipe that has a spigot with a hose attached. The hose is used to water the roof garden.
