Empty crucible
  • P2 removes As bottle(s) from outer wrapping and cuts open last bag

Do not get any As anywhere other than in the crucible! Especially in the sublimator but outside the crucible-- don't do that!

Gasket installed
  • P2 unwraps sealing ring for P1 to grab

  • P1 replaces sealing ring while P2 makes strong UHV foil boat for new moly bolts

Note: Unless we re-use the bolts, which is only if the cracker has just been sent from Veeco without a gasket plate installed (e.g. brand new or re-built)

  • P2 opens new moly bolts bag and pours them into strong UHV foil boat. P2 will hold this boat over the open UHV tool container in case it rips.

  • P1 inserts all bolts, finger tight

Sealing ring installed and secured by top & bottom bolts
Installing and tightening bolts by hand
  • P1 uses clean socket and veeco dial torque torque wrench to tighten bolts, sequentially 30 in/lbs, 60 in/lbs, 90 in/lbs 3x each

Torquing bolts to spec

  • P2 cuts new 6" silver gasket, P1 puts gasket on evaporator knife edge

  • P2 unwraps top of sublimator, P1 replaces top of evaporator, P3 closes N2 line

  • P1 replaces and tightens bolts
