MPPT Integration and HV/LV Circuitry

Custom MPPT:

  • Hardware:

    • Power: current plan is to power off of the LV power (12V) if we find a better reason to power the MPPT off of the array then we can adjust the plan

      • The reason for this is that the Blackbody A are changed off of the 12V so it would be more elegant

    • HV:

      • Integrate custom MPPT into the HV system for pre-charge

    • Isolate LV from HV

    • Next gen:

      • Use 12 V fuse box for power and CAN

      • 12V → Isolated 12v → Hv system

  • Firmware:

    • Implement pre-charge protection

Commercial MPPT:

  • Hardware:

    • Powered off of CAN and 30V pre-charge

      • Minimum 6V

      • When testing it looked like it was drawing power from the array

    • HV:

      • Figure out if we can integrate both the commercial and custom MPPT into the HV system for pre-charge

    • Daybreak: Power off of 12V fuse box

      • Check to see if the CAN is isolated from the LV

      • If not:

        • We need an 12V isolator

  • Firmware:

    • Understand given firmware and implement pre-charge protection
