Definitions

  • Module: a string/group of cells that are connected in series.

    • Each module connects in series to form a subarray.

    • D2 calls this a panel (90% sure)

Iteration 1

Assumptions as of 12/7/2024

  • Area of each cell: 125 mm x 125 mm.

  • The cell used is Maxeon Gen 3 Me3 (Buy SunPower® Maxeon® Cells from the Global Authorized Distributor)

  • Modules are groups of 2x4, 2x3, and 2x2

    • Clarification: 2x4 means the module consists of 8 cells, with 2 on each column and 4 columns total.

  • The cell-to-cell gap is 2 mm

    • Clarification: the distance between each cell in a module is 2 mm.

  • The module-to-module gap is 4 mm

    • Clarification: the distance between the edge of the outer cells to the edge of the module’s encapsulation is 2 mm. When two modules are placed side-by-side, then their distance would be 2 + 2 = 4 mm.
