Materials

Students must supply their own materials. If the knife breaks while cutting the user is responsible for purchasing a new blade.

If your material is not on listed on this page please send an email to soatechdesk@utexas.edu with information on the requested material for us to review CNC Knife applications.

  • Paper Products

    • Chipboard

    • Museum board

  • Fabric

    • Felt

    • Canvas

  • Vinyl

  • Soft Plastics

  • Foam

    • XPS

    • Polyethylene

    • Polyurethane

    • Foam-core board

Prohibited Materials

  • Any rigid materials

    • Both the top and bottom surfaces or your stock material must be a flat plane

  • Wood

  • MDF

  • Metals

  • Magnetic Sheets

  • Anything containing Portland cement

    • Cement board

    • Rockite

    • Plaster

    • etc.
