Mediasite Lecture Capture
Overview
Mediasite is an automated lecture capture system supported by the Cockrell School Faculty Technology Studios (FTS) team. The service records classroom lectures using integrated video and audio equipment and uploads the recordings directly to the instructor’s Canvas course page—no manual intervention required.

Features
Automated Recording: Captures video (classroom camera), audio (lapel mic), and presentation content (podium computer, document camera, or connected device).
Canvas Integration: Recordings are automatically uploaded to the Canvas course page under the Modules section.
No Cost: The service is provided at no cost to faculty using the service for classroom instruction.
Archiving: Recordings are available to instructors after the semester ends for personal retention. Recordings will be made available via Microsoft Teams/SharePoint

Important Notes
Pausing/editing lecture capture service or recordings during the semester may not be readily available.
Merged Canvas Courses: If teaching multiple sections, merge Canvas courses early and provide the merged link. Please read the cross-listing tutorial for more information.
Missed Lectures: If a class is canceled, instructors can request deletion of that day’s recording
