Turn off Caching for shared folders in Outlook

Turn off Caching for shared folders in Outlook

NOTE: We have noticed that caching shared resource mailboxes and resource calendars can cause Outlook to crash the first time the mailbox is added to Outlook.  We have also encountered other issues.  We reommend that you turn off caching for shared resource mailboxes and resource calendars.

In Outlook:

  • Go to the “File” tab
  • Account Settings> Account Settings
  • Select the “Change” button (middle of window)
  • More settings (bottom right of window)
  • Advanced Tab
  • Un-select “Download shared folder”, but leave “Use cached Exchange” mode checked.
