How can I access this software
Edupacks is available via
Install onto personally owned laptops
Download the installation files from: https://utexas.app.box.com/v/ME-Edupack-download
You will need the password for the site above, from your instructor, prior to downloading
Click Download in the upper right
Right-click the downloaded zip file, choose properties, and make sure the file doesn't have a block attached (https://thirtysix.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202921675-How-to-Unblock-a-File-Downloaded-from-an-Email-or-the-Internet)
Unzip the file with your preferred zip utility or right-click on the file and select "Extract All"
Run the setup file
On the license configuration page, enter:
for the Server: "engr-ansys64.austin.utexas.edu"
leave the port as 1055
and leave other items blank
The license should allow you to select and install all databases (of languages selected)
Before running the software, you will either need to be connected to the campus "utexas" wifi network or use the campus VPN service (Connecting to the University of Texas VPN)
Common Problems
Microsoft Visual Studio Service Pack 1 Report Viewer needed (EduPack installer does NOT seem to handle this properly, although their documentation says it will):
Just the "ReportViewer.exe" update should be needed.
