dSpace is restricted to class use only; there are 30 concurrent licenses available
How can I access this software:
- Download and install onto personal computers
- Download the dSPACE_Release2022-A_merged.zip file from https://utexas.box.com/v/ut-mech-dspace (you will need a password from your instructor)
- Right-click the downloaded zip file, choose properties, and make sure the file doesn't have a block attached (How to Unblock a File Downloaded from an Email or the Internet – Support Center (zendesk.com)
- Unzip the files
- Run the Install_Release.exe folder extracted folder
- WARNING! Will require computer restart, so save any open documents and close other applications - if it does, re-run the Install_Release.exe after the restart or click the box to automatically restart the installer
- Click Install dSPACE Software
- Next through EULA
- Next through information
- Next through path
- Select desired products (you can select "All" near the top of the list if unsure, but this will use the most disk space).
- Next through any additional EULAs
- Click Start
- Click Ok to complete setup and restart your computer
- Click Close - your computer should now restart
- Configure your install to use the department license server
- From the Windows start menu, click CodeMeter → CodeMeter Control Center (this will have installed as part of the dSpace install)
- Click the WebAdmin button on the bottom right
- Click Configuration → Basic
- Click Add New Server
- Enter "10.157.3.6" and click Add
- Click Apply
- Run the application, after connecting to the VPN
- Connect first to the campus VPN service. - https://vpn.utexas.edu/
