Driver Feedback from Comp 2025 (Daybreak)
Erika: Overall not to bad from my perspective. Understeer/oversteer wasn’t too terrible. High speed stability was more noticeable like past 20ish mph. It just felt a little wobbly lol. The car would veer left or right more when we went faster. Maybe just the steering became more sensitive when we were moving faster
Kayla: The major issue for me is straight line stability and overcorrection
during corners i honestly didn't think it was bad at all the turning radius is adequate if not oversteering - dynamics was better like i said for some reason feedback was less probably because we hadn't put as much load or cycles on the car yet
Surabhi: the main issue I had was at high speeds (>30 mph) the car would zigzag without me trying to. I’d be holding the wheel steady but I’d be shaking side to side. Oversteer was def an issue (drifting during dynamics… but that was also just my fault lmao). steering effort wasn’t too high and the car felt decently responsive other than the oversteer issue. I had to take steep turns a bit slower bc I wasn’t sure if the car would drift or oversteer accidentally. Generally, I think steering was much harder to control when moving in a straight line but a consistent curve like figure 8 was much easier (other drivers lmk if this was your experience too)
Acceleration, Brake Travel, and velocity graphs:
Straight Line Instability:
Most commonly stated issue
Got worse as speed increased, most notable at >30mph
Likely due to bad bump steer geometry and potentially toe alignment
Harder to control in a straight line than in a constant radius corner
Play in quick disconnect hex adapter
Over/Understeer:
Generally fine with a tendency to oversteer under power?
Have received inconsistent feedback on this
