Transcribe exactly what is heard
Do not interpret or modify the sound.
Do not use symbols like
< >,[/], or[ ].
Use a hyphen (-) if the onomatopoeia is a compound unit
Examples:
pim-pam,tic-tac,toc-toc
Repeat the onomatopoeia as many times as it is spoken
Example:
pim-pam pim-pam pim-pam

After transcription, any onomatopoeic form not recognized by the CLAN dictionary should be added to the "Words not in CLAN library" list.
