16 - Product Sorting

Summary/Overview:
The purpose of our project is to solve a pick-and-place step in a factor automation environment. Our goal is to simulate a solution for situations that are cost effective to automate like in a simple sorting and transportation scenarios. We use a 4-bar linkage to incorporate x and z travel in a single mechanism and actuator for repeatable and cost effective pick-and-place operations. Examples of applications could include include item sorting in the case of e-commerce order fulfillment or moving items too heavy for a human operator.
