Summary/Overview:

Our project aims to create a compact automated buttering assistant that can handle these small but precise motions reliably and safely. The challenge lies in handling a soft, slippery object while maintaining smooth motion. This requires precise coordination between perception, motion, and force control. The robot must identify and approach the butter, grasp it gently yet securely, and transport it without deformation or slippage. The video below demonstrates how the robot works and walks through the mechanisms and electronics.
