Yamaha DM7 - Default Custom Fader Layouts
In our default scenes, we have created custom fader layouts for ease of use. Ideally, the end user should never have to dig through menus to operate a room. Below is an outline of the logic for the fader layout of these scenes. While we will explore the “4B Default” scene, the same logic is true for all scenes.
To make sure you are viewing the custom fader layout, press the “Custom” button on the DM7 | |
In general, the first batch of faders will always be potential microphone inputs. For most scenes, this will be 16 channels of mic inputs for the Yamaha Tio that lives in every studio.
The next batch of inputs are the devices to the right of the DM7 mixer, including the bluetooth device, Skype computer, Streamdeck/A1 computer, and the Digital Video Playback computers.
The final batch of inputs will be devices that are coming from the rack room down the hall by the graduate suites. There is a Tio in the rack room that gets audio from the switcher, the CG, and tone for signal testing. These will occupy the last batch of faders on. |

The next bank of 4 faders immediately to the right are 2 DCA faders and a send level to the studio announce speaker.
The “News Mic” DCA is a fader to control the volume for ALL microphones. This includes all lavaliers, bluetooth audio, and Skype audio. This way you can make changes to the overall level of the microphones without affecting the volume of any of the digital playback devices.
The “News PB” DCA is a fader to control the volume for ALL playback devices. This includes all playback devices. This way you can make changes to the overall level of the playback devices without affecting the volume of any of the live microphones. |

The final bank on the right hand side is the program master fader. |
