How to Run the Current Kinematic Plots

Current:

Solar Mcqueen 0.0.2

kin.plot.2

(First make sure you’re in the Solar Repo where we have cloned the simulation toolkit.)

Under _concept and kinematics folder within the suspension Bild, there is a referenced SAE UCS ver. of the HDPTs. Just make sure you have pulled all the changes and then use this one to take point coordinates.

Check out the txt file and update the coordinates from the CAD so that it is easier to check for mistakes transferring it to vscode - but also just so its all in one place every time we update hdpt ref. Most weird variations in the graph results are because of error in the coordinates when pasting it so it just helps.

solar_car.yml is where you do all the inputting and it has the more detailed descriptions of the parameters.

If you are just testing things then use a diff vehicle name and reflect your iterations with the version number. Otherwise just keep up w the version number for “Solar Mcqueen” assuming its all work for the real hdpts.

Every time you run vehicle_model_check, you will generate a kin_plots.pdf - rename it after and make note of what version / date it is. This is to keep a record - if you do want to keep this set of plots, because every new run will generate kin_plots.pdf.

Summary: Of course this only represents the front suspension. It will also generate a visual which makes it easier still to check for major errors in the points quickly. See Kinematics page.
