this is a hall effect magnetic encoder. A magnet which is attached to the bellcrank will rotate with the pivot, and the encoder which is mounted on the frame next to the bellcrank frame tab and ‘under’ the magnet will measure the angular displacement and convert it to shock travel.
current progress (3/18): testing encoder. main concern is if the magnet can be close enough to the frame since the data sheet says they need to be within 0.25” of each other.
