Kinematic Analysis At Oar Tip

For the final design, we simulated the position, velocity, acceleration, and ideal force of the tip of the oar when the motors are operating at full speed (50 RPM). The plots below show the simulated results. By using this kinematic analysis, we are better able to predict the oar behavior at water and can compare the simulated result and physically tested result.

For the force plot, this is an ideal force value assuming that the full power of the 12V 0.6A motor is transmitted to the tip of the oar. Any losses due to friction, inertia, or motor effort are not accounted for. For this reason, these values should be considered an idealized upper bound.
