Overview of charter and goals
Meeting time - as semesters change so do reference schedules, and work schedules more generally (kids in camp, etc) so it might be time to reevaluate our meeting time
2015-2016 Activities
Round-robin campus repository visits - Jennifer Hecker suggested archival repositories on campus might take turns hosting brown bag lunches. We might discuss as a group how we could incorporate this into ADWG semester scheduling OR whether folks prefer for this to be a separate event so that there are two distinct opportunities for archives folks to get together each month
Archives Lab: We could designate every other meeting as a lab day for exploring tools - inspired by the Islandora User group on campus that currently hosts open lab on Fridays from 2-4. We could do something like this to look at tools/scripts for migration and data clean-up relevant to archives
Possible campus archives-outreach event: Could be a walk up archives clinic for students and faculty, could be an archives scavenger hunt (gamifying the archives), could be a combined exhibit highlighting items from each repository around a particular, timely theme, could be an ADWG sponsored event during Archives Week in October, lots of possibilities (Relatedly, ACT will soon begin planning the 2016 Austin Archives Bazaar for next October.)
Fall speaker line-up - we've got several months of speaker slots to fill coming up, here's few off the top of my head:
UT Faculty It might be great to put together a faculty panel from different departments that currently use or are interested in using primary resources in their courses
Charlotte Nunes - CLIR Fellow at Southwestern in Georgetown, Texas
using archival material for undergraduate research
Ann Sedivich - Queering the archive, English/Rhetoric
Tanya Clement - making archival material available for digital humanities work
Creators of tools that you are interested in using to clean-up archival data
Adam Rabinowitz & Jennifer Hecker talking about crowdsourcing archival metadata
Peter Chan - Digital Archivist at Stanford, he could provide demo of and updates on the e-pADD project
Xeac project
