Wiki Authorizations

This document discusses how to add a user to view and edit Wiki.utexas documents.

Only Wiki "space admins" can authorize others for the Wiki. Wiki space admins for the college are:

To add a new user:

Authenticate with your UT EID.

In the top left of the page, choose Space Settings.

Click on Custom Space User Management.

Choose a group (eg: comm-techteam)

Click Add User

Type the new user's UT EID* in the text field at the bottom of the list and click Add.

Click Save.

*Note that per ITS' documentation, a new user must log into the wiki once before you can add them to a permissions group.

Authenticate with your UT EID.

In the top left of the page, choose Space Settings.

Click on Custom Space User Management.

Choose a group (eg: comm-techteam)

Click Remove User

Type the new user's UT EID* in the text field at the bottom of the list and click Add.

Click Save.

Go to the top-level page of the secure section and click Tools, select Restrictions.

For view only access, leave the radio button at the default Restrict viewing of this page, enter the user's UT EID and click Save.

For editing access, click the radio button next to Restrict Editing of this page, enter the user's UT EID and click Save.
