Configure Outlook for macOS with Office 365

Setup Outlook

  • Launch Outlook for macOS
  • On the Outlook menu, click Preferences and then click Accounts
  • Select Exchange or Office 365

Note:  newer versions of Outlook for macOS will prompt for your university email address, then redirect you the university login pages.  After successfully authenticating, Outlook will automatically be configure.  If Outlook does not auto-configure, use the manual instruction below to finalize installation.

  • Enter the following information for your Exchange account:
    • Email Address: your assigned UT Email address
    • Method: User Name and Password
    • User name: Your full UT email address (e.g., username@austin.utexas.edu)
    • Password: Your UT EID password
    • Configure automatically: checked
  • Select Add Account


Note:  A message displays asking whether you want to allow the Outlook autodiscover server to configure your settings. Check Always use my response for this server and click Allow.
