HDF 266L

Amy

  • Learning Experience Activity

    • Should have recorded last week, if not, make it work.

    • Check in with 266 student

    • If student does not have a small group, maybe create a folder or something where students can see small group

    • 266 is coming after school today to take a tour of the resource room. When they do their proposal form, they have an idea of where to get started.

    • 266 should not go into the resource room without an MT. Encourage students to check in with Master Teachers about assignments.

    • Remind undergrads to ask questions to MTs

845-915

Research

Amy

  •

    • Leave electrode stickers on child afterwards

915-930

HDF 113L

Hallie

  • All observers have been here once

  • Adult learners are leading the play in interactions with children. They should be facilitating between peers and not leading play.

  • Teacher voices are very loud from the booth. Pick up teachers over children.

  • Students also reported talking in the booth.

  • Stick to posted schedule!

    • Observation Times (for 113, other courses come at different times)

      • 910-955

      • 1040-1125

      • 1210-120 - Pecan

      • 140-225

      • 310-355

  • Outside: see observers sitting somewhere with no children around. Ask who they are trying to observe. Guide them where to sit. If they are sitting somewhere obtrusive, guide them where to sit otherwise.

  • Nametags - please remember to put their nametags on the outside of the coat.

  • Weather - Rain... for undergrads they cannot write in the rain. Students need to be under the awning. If it is really raining, so go out in groups, but stay under awning. Or they can observe inside, with an outdoor option so observers still have somebody to observe.

  • Observers in classroom chairs - 20 minutes.

    • Becca needs another grown-up chair

  • For Hallie: Crop tops, clean, comfortable. You need to be able to bend over and not see anything. Closed toed shoes, commercial freeze. The Five Cs.

  • @Amanda Davila and @Amy E Bryan announcement for canvas about dress code

933-10

Playground

All

  • Revisit playground duties and how those will be covered

    • Things do not seem to be any different.

    • We are an OLE! Playground site. A lot of expectations for us to care and plan this space, like we do for the indoor environment.

      • We have a responsibility to train the undergrads on all of these processes.

      • Children should be cleaning up the outdoors just like they do on the inside.

      • MTs, Dayne, and Adrianna - get together and figure out a plan. Knowing that we have to make the outdoor space be clean, well-kept, and productive for the kids.

      • 10 outdoor play areas for the children to engage in outside for different kinds of play.

    • Should not be a burden for any person or small group of people

    • People need to hold themselves accountable.

    • Speak up and be open and honest.

    • More training on outdoor classroom.

    • @Adriana Threet and @Amy E Bryan will put together list of outdoor classroom training opportunities.

    • 9am meeting next Friday (2/17) to hash out playground info

  • Next week

    • Basketball hoops by big area. Little one put away after toddlers go inside. Big one brought in at the end of the day.

    • Sand area: plastic large rakes and sifters, prep for treasure hunting for following week. Put out leave bag and children can get leaves from sand

    • Sand molds

    • Herb hut: kitchen with chef hats and aprons, next week: food truck (taco)

    • Grassy area: balance boards and jumping board and mat to make obstacle

    • Sensory: Biopaint, outdoor crayons, on wood

    • Manips: geoboards (next time tinker toys)

    • Creative expression: bluetooth speaker and scarves
