Blackmagic – Teranex – How to Capture 29.97 HDV or DV tape and Upconvert to 1080 23.98 Frame Rate Conversion and Upconvert Standards Conversion
Turn on HDV Deck | |
Click on Menu | |
Make sure HDV/DV is set to DV | |
Click on Video Out | |
Set to HDMI / CMPT to 480i | |

Audio Mixer Look for HDV 3 Turn up input level to about 0 db should be a good level

Make sure the Thunderbolt cable is connected to the computer back of the (Mac Mini) There will be an adapter that looks like this connected to a cable connect the cable and adapter to the Mac Mini that will be the connection to the Terranex |

Put the tape in the deck | |
Click on PLAY Tip- It's good to play the tape while the Terranex is turning on so the signals sync | |
Turn on the Teranex and wait for it to power on it'll be about a minute | |
Go to the computer and log in too CMA 4.138 station #11 Go to >Applications > Blackmagic Desktop Video >Desktop Video Setup |

Click on the Icon shown here in the frame grab to access the settings for the device | Click on the Setup Icon |
Click On Video Input | |
Click on the Audio Tab and change the Audio to RCA
Click on Save | |
Open Blackmagic Media Express | |
Go to >Media Express> |

Set the Video Format to | |
Click on the Log and Capture Tab in Media Express | |
You should see audio levels Then click on the Capture Button to start capturing. Capture Button will turn RED | |
Click Capture to stop capturing | |
Turn off the Teranex when finished | |
Turn off the VTR's when finished |
