DaVinci Resolve - How to Play Bars and Tone

Open Resolve and Create a project

Go to Davinci Resolve

>Preferences

Select Video and Audio I/O

Choose Monitor Device

Ultrastudio

Audio I/O

choose Desktop Video

You will have to close Resolve and reopen the project for settings to apply

Next go to the Edit Tab

Need to make a timeline

right click in the bin and choose

>Timeline>Create New Timeline

Default template is fine

Click on the Effects Tab in the upper right of the window

Select

>Generators

>SMPTE Color Bar

You should see image on the External Monitor

For audio Tone click on the

Fairlight tab

On the right hand side choose the audio track of the sequence

>Choose Input

Choose Audio Inputs

>System Generator

Choose System Generator

>Osc

Make sure it’s patched to

Audio 1 L and Audio 1 R

As shown here

Choose Patch and close that window

On the audio track one

Press the R button and tone should start playing
