Notes
- Nitin: discussed changes he made to script to transfer CSV files from source directory to destination directory
- Destination directory corresponds to finding aid
- All files will have unique name in final directory to prevent overwriting
- When transferred, files can be given EAD tags that indicate location in finding aid (additional metadata such as years and names can be added later)
- Unmil: making sure script is non-sensitive to cases
- Will continue to test on a few sandbox directories, then believes we are ready to go
- Stub will be on GitHub
- Victor:
- Currently, we do not have a list of the retention schedules for psychiatric facilities in all 50 states
- Showed us his idea for spreadsheet that shows spectrum of retention schedules across states
- Discussion about how examination of retention schedules will be helpful for developing our digital archives model --> development of compliance profile that determines access (who/when)
- The actual numbers are not important, but rather the categories found (or not) in retention schedules
- Victor is not really clear on whether the numbers of years of retention, across states, is not exactly what the policy/law list purported to get at in the proposal. Will clarify at next meeting.
