2017-05-26 Meeting notes
Date
May 26, 2017
Attendees
@Lorraine A Dong
@Galloway, Patricia K
@Karadkar, Unmil P
@Verma, Nitin
@Victor O Obaseki
Notes
Nitin: discussed changes he made to script to transfer CSV files from source directory to destination directory
Destination directory corresponds to finding aid
All files will have unique name in final directory to prevent overwriting
When transferred, files can be given EAD tags that indicate location in finding aid (additional metadata such as years and names can be added later)
Unmil: making sure script is non-sensitive to cases
Will continue to test on a few sandbox directories, then believes we are ready to go
Stub will be on GitHub
Victor:
Currently, we do not have a list of the retention schedules for psychiatric facilities in all 50 states
Showed us his idea for spreadsheet that shows spectrum of retention schedules across states
Discussion about how examination of retention schedules will be helpful for developing our digital archives model --> development of compliance profile that determines access (who/when)
The actual numbers are not important, but rather the categories found (or not) in retention schedules
Victor is not really clear on whether the numbers of years of retention, across states, is not exactly what the policy/law list purported to get at in the proposal. Will clarify at next meeting.
